First thing we need to do is get the lid off.

I took the springs off, my they are rusty

and finished removing the 4 screws to each hindge

That stuff works pretty darned good
Clean Lid
Remove Handle
The screws are internal to the lid and not wanting to take that whole thing apart I reverted to brute force. :)
Clean rubber seal
This is just some rubber cleaner I got an auto parts shop, nothing spectatular, soap
Power Wash
2400 PSI is good way to clean things.
The power wash blew off a lot of the chipped paint
Brush out Rust
A bit of steel wool and a lot of elbow work and we've managed to get rid of all the interior rust
